Beginning your musical journey with piano is the best way to begin and opens you up to so many options in further studies! With a combination of music theory and technique, the basic skills of the piano can transfer easily to any other instrument or be a great foundation to advance piano skills.

I work with students of all ages and backgrounds in the Spanish Fork, UT area. I offer in-home lessons as well as lessons held at my studio. Since no two students are the same, teaching techniques are adjusted to each person’s learning style to help them work towards their own musical goals. I start with creating a foundation based on theory and technique that will help with future success in music of any genre, style, or even instrument. Once a good foundation is built it’s time to start the fun stuff! The scales and arpeggios make it easy for each student to advance to the next sets of music until mastery is achieved.

A Little bit About Marina

My love for music began when I was just a toddler playing with my LeapFrog notepad with Vivaldi’s four seasons. From there I went on to learn piano and cello but didn’t stop there. I also taught myself how to play the violin, viola, guitar, and bass. The expression and language of music is the journey in which I center my life’s workaround.

I graduated with a bachelor’s of arts in instrumental music performance from Mary Baldwin University. I have spent the past 17 years studying piano and music theory with the assistance of Dr. Lise Keiter and Dr. Beth Cantrell. Within these studies, I have found that the links between music history, music theory, and technical instrumental studies all contribute to a deeper understanding of music and a more passionate, expressive performance.
